Daily Writing

Each day at Wattle Grove Primary School, the students participate in daily writing sessions to prepare for their Big Write session once a week. During these daily writing sessions, the students work hard to understand text structure, language and a suitable audience for their writing.
Over the last few weeks, our text structure focus has been narratives.

Room 14 have been writing wonderful stories about an under the sea adventure, a holiday and recently their own fairy tale.
This week the prompt has been 'The Day my Teacher Disappeared'.
To assist the students with understanding the prompt and thinking in detail about their ideas, we encourage the students to discuss their daily writing learning with their families at home.
To help guide these discussions, the Year 2 teaching team have created a set of questions called Talk Homework.
These can be used to prompt students to explore their ideas and think deeper about the language and structure they can use in these sessions.
Please find below upcoming Talk Homework prompts.
In the coming weeks our focus will be changing from narratives to persuasive writing.

If there are any questions, please feel free to send me an email or talk to me at school.

Your support and encouragement is always appreciated.
